What is LitRPG?

LitRPG (literary role-playing game) is fiction where game mechanics such as levels, stats, skills and system notifications are part of the story and shown on the page. GameLit is the looser umbrella for game-flavored fiction, and progression fantasy covers stories built around a character steadily growing in power, with or without visible stats. Cultivation (xianxia-inspired) stories such as Beware of Chicken are a branch of it.

Why audiobooks?

The books are long and tend to have big series, and narrators like Travis Baldree, Jeff Hays and Heath Miller voice system messages in memorable ways. Publishers such as Podium and Aethon release many of these books in audio first or alongside the ebook.
